Horizontal bead mill is the grinding equipment, commonly used to mill granular materials in liquid. However, during the running of the horizontal bead mill, solid particles may sediment. Namely, solid particles, probably with the grinding beads, settle down to the bottom of the grinding chamber when the grinding beads have insufficient movement and rotation, affecting the grinding results.
When particle sediment occurs, it is mainly due to the improper settings of parameters such as speed. The rotation speed affects the movement of the grinding beads. If the speed is too high, the grinding beads will rotate too quickly and may lose effective contact with the particles in the slurry, leading to undesirable grinding fineness. If the speed is too low, the grinding beads may sink directly down to the bottom with the particles that need to be milled, resulting in insufficient grinding.
To solve it, you could adjust the speed and other related parameters in the operation and control system of the bead mill. First, select the appropriate speed range based on the properties and requirements of the grinding material. Reduce the speed if it is too high and increase it if too low, to ensure adequate movement and rotation of the grinding beads so that there is enough contact between the particles and the grinding beads.
Secondly, selecting suitable grinding beads from aspects of chemical composition, size, density, etc. is practical in avoiding particle sedimentation. Appropriate grinding beads can increase grinding efficiency and improve grinding performance. For example, grinding beads with slightly higher density will move a little more balanced during grinding, somehow helping solve the particle sedimentation.
There are also other technical measures. For example, changing the structure and parameters of the transmission part in the bead mill for safety and stability can also reduce particle sedimentation. Some auxiliary measures can also be taken, such as adding a stirring device or installing a vibration device. This can increase the movement and rotation of the grinding media and improve grinding.
In short, the solid substances in the grinding mixture that settle at the bottom of the grinding chamber are subject to a combination of factors such as rotation speed, grinding media, and technical measures. By adjusting the appropriate parameters, selecting the right grinding media, and adopting the corresponding technical means, sedimentation can be effectively solved, and the grinding performance and production efficiency of the horizontal bead mill can be improved.
